thie studios is a Hamburg based design studio that’s run by Katja Kirchner.
Her work has been internationally recognized by d&ad, cannes lions,
red dot and the Art Directors Club.
Besides everyday design work, the studio focuses on design stationery with
selected international stockists such as colette in Paris, 10 Corso Como
in New York, Anthropologie and Papersmiths in London, KaDeWe in Berlin
and many more great design, book and museum shops around the globe.
the concept & products

The minimalistic greeting card collection was awarded with Gold at the
European Product Design Award 2017. The design of the greeting cards is very
unique. Every motif is designed only with geometric shapes. Their special
character is to tell a simple story just with a few, abstract forms. Foil embossed
details make the cards to something really special. Their greeting card
collection is constantly growing each year with new motifs inspired by pop
culture, design and fashion.
With the next addition of the alphabook the studio expanded their product
range. They continued the idea of using the four geometric shapes by building
an own alphabet to create individual covers.
A conscious mind works best – Thats’s why thie studios launched a new range
ofeco-friendly products. For disposable products such as daily and weekly
planners or gift wrap thie studios uses 100% recycling paper. The eco-friendly
printing methods use either soy based inks for riso printed products or eco-inks
based on sustainable raw materials for offset prints. thie studios proves that
there are real alternatives to mitigate the negative impact on the environment
and demonstrates that sustainability and premium design stationery work
great together.
the production
–
The studio pays particular attention to the entire production process and even
goes as far as handpicking a selection of high quality paper to ensure a superior
finish. All their products are produced and printed in Germany on FSC certified
fine paper and packed in an eco-friendly OPP-bags.
